Trustee Pauline S. Hamlette
Pauline S. Hamlette was introduced to Christ and accepted Him at a very early age. She was baptized by the Reverend Spencer P. Goggins and became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama where her entire family was baptized and worshiped. Her father, Deacon Emeritus Major Saddler was a God-fearing man and a devout Christian. He served as the Superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer of New Hope Baptist and Chairman of t he Deacon Board until his death. Her mother, Deaconess Emeritus Mary Lou Saddler, served as Sunday School teacher, senior choir member and chairlady of the Deaconess until she became ill and could not perform her duties. Trustee Hamlette’s first love is for the Most High. She has a passion for excellence and education for children. She has been a teacher, a guidance counselor, open space education trainer, interim principal, assistant principal and principal. She retired from the District of Columbia Public School System in 1998 after 38 years of service, l7 of those years as principal of the Amidon Elementary School in Southwest Washington, DC. Trustee Hamlette is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, has served as treasurer of Washington Performing Arts Society, Women’s Committee, Advisory Council, Jhoon Rhee Leadership Foundation and Advisory Council, the Best Friends Foundation. Trustee Hamlette continues to expand her horizons. She is now the Director of Programs for the Best Friends Foundation. She has a BS degree from the Alabama A & M University, Huntsville, Alabama with a major in Business Education and minor in General Science; a MA degree from George Washington University, Washington, DC with a major in Guidance and Counseling, and a minor in Psychology. She holds Continuing Education Certificates from National Science Resources Center Elementary Science Leadership Institute, Harvard University, The Principal’s Center, American University, National Alliance of Business Career Guidance Institute, and Administrator’s Leadership Training Academy. She is married to Thomas F. Hamlette, Sr. They are the parents of two children, Pamela, and Thomas.
